In Grande Prairie, Skiing Doesn’t Stop When the Sun Sets

posted by: Stonebridge Hotel on: December 22, 2014 01:47:30 PM
Winter’s here and you know what that means, it’s time to bring out the skis and boards and hit up the slopes. If you are passing through Grande Prairie and you want to get some skiing in, there is a hill just a short drive out of town.

Nitehawk Recreation Area offers skiing and snowboarding, luge, year round RVing, a terrain park and a snow school.

The slope itself has 9 exciting runs, a mogul patch, half pipe and two terrain parks. There’s a Bauer Triple Chairlift to help you back up to the top, a platter lift, and a 100ft and 600ft Wonder Carpet conveyor lift.

All runs are also fully equipped for night skiing, hence the name!

They also offer equipment rentals and season passes. If you just want to do a day trip the prices are very reasonable. For a full day adult pass it’s $37, half day $32. For youth full day it is $32, half day $27. For a full comprehensive list of prices feel free to check out their website.

Compared to some of the more Big Kahuna ski hills their prices are fantastic and they offer you great diversity on the slopes too. Not to mention their night skiing is cheaper $22 on Thursdays for everyone and only $15 on their Frugal Fridays.

The Nitehawk Recreation Area also offers a variety of ways you can get involved, including clubs. If you are planning on staying in Grande Prairie for a little bit longer you can always check out their Junior Bike Club, Freestyle team, Snowboarding Club, Alpine Ski Team, Ski Patrol and Luge Association.

Stonebridge Hotel is nestled in Grande Prairie, just a short drive to the ski hill. Why not stay with us after a long day on the slopes? Contact us now for the best rates guaranteed.
