Run the Peace River Region this June!

posted by: Stonebridge Hotel on: June 14, 2018 02:52:59 PM

If you asked me what are the two activities in the WORLD least like each other, there’s a good chance I would have told you “running a half marathon” and “chainsaw carving.” That’s only because I’m not as brilliant as the fine people of Chetwynd (nearby Dawson Creek) who are combining these two hard-as-nails events on June 9! Come prove your mettle in a 21 KM race and then relax in a beer tent while enjoying the spectacularly creative and rustic creations of some of the Peace River region’s most gifted artisans! Find out more about the Chainsaw Carving Half Marathon here!

A race with a twist, the Vertical Slam Challenge is an up-to-10K run takes place at Fort St. John’s Big Bam Ski Hill for the ultimate test of your physical abilities! These challenging slopes will make you WORK for the finish line, letting you and your friends know your mettle!
When the foot races end, there will also be a 2.3 KM kid-friendly obstacle race. Take part or sit back and watch your kids have a blast!
Even better, the Vertical Slam Challenge is a fundraiser for local high schools, so you know your registration is doing some good! Take part on June 9!

Taking place in Grand Prairie, this 7K fun run combines dye colour bombs with a foot race, transforming exercise into one of the silliest, most fun things you can do with your summer! A family-friendly event, this run will take place in Grand Prairie, Alberta on June 10! Find out more about Colour Me Happy here!
Wherever your destination in the Peace River region this June, know that you’ll find affordable luxury at a Stonebridge Hotel by Pomeroy. With locations in Fort St. John, Dawson Creek and Grand Prairie, we offer upscale service at an affordable price. Book your stay today
