Who doesn’t love shopping locally? Well, thankfully it couldn’t be easier in Dawson Creek, British Columbia owing to the number of markets popping up all over town. From a night market hosted by a youth group to a fall-inspired market and the first Christmas market of the season in nearby Bonanza, check out three local markets to visit this October.

Fall For Local Market

The Dawson Creek and District Hospital Foundation are pleased to host a fall market filled with local artisans and creators. Taking place at the Beans & Barley Cafe, this seasonal market is taking place on October 22nd and 23rd. It features all kinds of locally-created, fall-inspired products, as well as door prizes, raffles, and more. Snacks and refreshments will also be available for purchase.

Nawican Night Market

Yet another market to attend in Dawson Creek is the Nawican Night Market, hosted by the Nawican Bergeron Youth & Cultural Centre. Taking place on Tuesdays throughout the month of October,  Tuesday, October 26th from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm is your final chance to go this month. New vendors are announced on the event’s Facebook page each week.

Bonanza Christmas Market

The Bonanza & District Agricultural Society is pleased to host the Bonanza Christmas Market in 2021! Get your holiday shopping done early by attending this local event, taking place on Saturday, October 23rd from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. Less than 30 minutes from Dawson Creek, the Bonanza Christmas Market is going to have tons of vendors, selling everything from clothing, crafts, wreaths, and treats to artwork, musical instruments, and much more. This year’s vendor lineup includes Simply Delish Soups, Scentsy, Metal Art by Ron Doetzel, Teddy Bears by Stephanie Gower, Neva Hanson, Buttery Bites Caramels, Fleece by Sharon, and Black Bear Creek Farms.

If you’re going to be in Dawson Creek this month, then be sure to pay a visit to any of the artisan markets above. And if you need a place to stay during your trip, you’re always welcome at the Stonebridge Hotel in Dawson Creek. We combine a warm, cozy atmosphere and family-friendly amenities with an unbeatable location in the heart of the city.
