Visit Grande Prairie this holiday season and enjoy a dose of holiday cheer. There are so many great events taking place in December, from the annual Christmas Craft Show to a dog sledding expedition. Check out this list of the best ways to spend the holiday season in Grande Prairie.

Christmas Show 2020

Grande Prairie’s annual Christmas Craft Show and Sale has been a special event hosted by the Grande Prairie Farmers’ Market for years. This year is no exception, with the event taking place on December 3, 4, and 5. Over the course of three days, over two hundred vendors will be showcasing their artisanal goodies, ranging from jewellery and clothing to food and decor. The Christmas Show 2020 is being held at the Tara Centre at Evergreen Park, and will be open from 12:00 pm until 9:00 pm on December 3 and 4, and from 10:00 pm until 6:00 pm on December 5.

Grande Prairie 2020 Lockdown Lights

This year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the holidays are going to look a little bit different. However, one Grande Prairie woman has taken it upon herself to ensure that locals far and wide get to enjoy the magic of the holiday season. She has done this by creating a GP 2020 Lockdown Lights route, highlighting the best holiday light displays in the city. There is a Facebook page for the attraction, which already has over 1,000 members. Those who join will be given access to a map of the best decorated houses in the city, and houses can request that theirs be added at any time.

Sled Dog Adventures

Try something new this winter thanks to Sled Dog Adventures at Evergreen Park. This year, from December 3 until January 3, Veteran Iditarod racer Aaron Peck along with his company Elevation Sled Dog Adventures, are coming to Grande Prairie to give you a chance to try dog sledding. Two different experiences are available: A daytime adventure called Evergreen Expedition and a nighttime ride through the woods called Night Runner. This family-friendly and COVID-friendly outdoor tour will take between 60 to 90 minutes, and there will be plenty of places to stop for photos.

If you wish to discover all that Grand Prairie has to offer this holiday season, then be sure to reserve a room at the Stonebridge Hotel.
